Open shifts tab
To find all the shifts available based on your preferences, head over to the "Open Shifts" tab in the bottom menu bar.
Just scroll down the list and take a look at the shift cards, which will provide you with all the necessary information for you to make quick and informed decisions about your shifts. The shift card will contain the following information:
- The name of the centre
- The suburb the centre is located in
- The date and time of the shift (and the length of the shift in hours - including any breaks)
- The required qualification for the shift
- The estimated pay for the shift, as well as any shift bonus that may apply
If you are happy with the details of the shift, and you've worked at the centre previously, you can easily accept it by clicking the big blue button. However, if you need additional information about the shift, you can simply tap on the card to access the shift details screen.
If you want to view additional available shifts, you can select either the "Show shifts outside my radius" or "Show shifts outside my availabilities" options at the top of your screen. You may find it helpful to tap these options if you're interested in shifts that are farther away or on days when you have indicated that you are unavailable.
Recommended shifts on the home screen
We have created a section called "Recommended Shifts" that suggests the shifts that we believe best suit your preferences. To create these recommendations, we have a look at the shifts you have taken in the past, the centres where you worked, the day and time you usually take shifts, as well as the distance you usually travel.
We'll also show recommended shifts once you accept a shift, for quick access to more you might be interested in!
The shift details screen
Tapping onto a shift card allows you to look at the shift in more detail. We've made it easy for you to locate all the important information that you will need in order to make a decision in taking the shift.
Centre name, distance and estimated pay
The top section shows you the centre's name, the estimated drive time from home (or public transport travel time if you have set this in your shift preferences), and the estimated pay you will get for the shift including any bonuses.
The pay you receive for the shift may differ from what is displayed here if your actual shift times vary from the scheduled times.
Getting directions to the centre
We understand that it can be useful for you to visualize the location of the center in relation to your home, so we provide you with a map showing this. Additionally, you can click on the icon located at the top right to open the directions on your preferred map application.
You can also tap the centre's address under the Centre title.
Information on shift timings
The "Shift Times" section shows the date, start and end times of your shift, and details about your unpaid break. For more information about breaks, you can refer to our Check-in, check-out, and breaks page.
Accepting a shift
Once you are happy with all the details for the shift, you can tap on the big blue "Accept shift" button at the bottom of the page to lock it in.
Pro tip:
Once you accept a shift, it will be available to view in the My Shifts tab. Viewing the shifts from this tab is where you can get directions on the day of your shift, check-in, check out and edit your breaks.
It is important to only accept shifts that you are certain you can attend. Cancelling a shift may hurt your reliability rating.
It's always a good idea to double-check everything before accepting!
Proposing a time
Sometimes you really want to take a shift but the posted times are slightly out of your availabilities. So you can propose a time to the centre that works better for you and they have the option to accept you onto the shift.
For more details on how this works see proposing times for shifts.
View the centre's profile
On the shift details screen, you can access the centre's profile. This page displays all the important information about the centre, including their location, services, and more.
Simply tap on the "Centre Profile" tab to access the information.
Pro tip!
Centres love it when you show up informed and ready to work. You can do this by reading their profile in depth, asking the right questions and being proactive about your engagement with them!
