Confirming and double-checking your timesheet
On the day of your shift, go to the shift details screen.
On the day of your shift, head over to the "My Shifts" tab. On this page, you will see all your upcoming shifts listed under the "Accepted" section. Tap on the shift you are going to that day to view the details and prepare yourself for your shift.
On this page, you can view the following details of your shift:
- Start time and end time of the shift
- Unpaid break time for the shift (more information on breaks is available below)
- Map displaying the location of the centre and a link to open directions in your favourite maps application.
This is also where you will check-in, check-out, and add your unpaid break to complete your timesheet.
Checking in
Tap the "check-in" button when you arrive at the centre and select the appropriate time from the scroll menu to start your shift. Please note that the times are in 15-minute increments, so select the time that is closest to the time you check out.
Remember!
Check-in with the time that you are actually on the floor and ready to start your shift. (not when you are still in your car or just arriving at the centre)
As you can imagine, we want to be able to collect your timesheet information as accurately as possible. So, we have a few requirements built into the app to help us with this.
You can only check in and check out when:
- You are connected to the internet or cellular data
- Your location access is turned on for the Z app through your phone settings
- You are inside the centre
If your phone settings do not meet the above requirements, you will not be able to check in.
Pro tip:
If you encounter any issues during check-in, feel free to approach one of the staff at the centre who has access to the Z app. They can check you in on your behalf through their app.
Checking out
When you finish your shift simply tap the "Check out" button and select the correct time from the scroll menu. It's as simple as that! Please note that the times are in 15-minute increments, so select the time that is closest to the time you check out.
Be aware!
The main reason that educators are paid incorrectly or not on time is because they forget to check in/out or submit incorrect timesheet details.

Make sure you double-check your timesheet is correct before submitting!
Your break times (and what to expect)
When you work a shift, you can input your unpaid break times, which will then be recorded on your timesheet. We will use the applicable award for your level to automatically add your break time and duration to your shift, making it easier for you.
However, if you wish to make any changes to the default values, you can do so by tapping on the edit button located next to the breaks section before you submit your final timesheet.
Pro tip:
Make sure to double-check with the centre what your unpaid break times will be when you get to the centre!
In this section, you can adjust the start time and duration of your break, and also see more information about how we calculate breaks based on the award.
Note:
If the details in your timesheet exactly match the original shift times, it will be approved automatically. However, if there are any discrepancies, your timesheet will need to be reviewed by the centre before it can be approved.
Confirming and double-checking your timesheet
After you tap the check-out button, a pop-up will appear showing your timesheet details. Before submitting your final timesheet, it's essential to carefully review the information displayed on the pop-up.
Once you submit the timesheet, it cannot be modified!
After your shift's timesheet is fully approved, it will move to the "Completed" tab in the "My Shifts" section.
