How to cancel a shift

If you need to cancel a shift, simply navigate to the shift screen, scroll to the bottom and click on the "Can I cancel my shift" option. Before you do cancel, we will show you a screen informing you how it will affect your reliability rating and ask you to provide a reason for cancellation.

Note:

You can only cancel a shift up until 12 hours before its start time.

If you need to cancel the shift within this time, please add Z admin to your shift chat with the centre so that all parties are aware of your reason for cancelling.

Please do not use support chat!

If you cancel a shift, you won't be able to accept another shift on the same day. So make sure you really need to cancel the shift before doing so!

If a centre cancels your shift, it will not negatively affect your reliability rating. However, if you have to cancel a shift due to genuine reasons, you can contact the support team to discuss the possibility of reversing the impact on your reliability rating.

About the Reliability Rating

As an Educator, when you accept a shift and then cancel it later, it is known as an "Educator cancellation".

Such cancellations can result in a poor centre experience and can also negatively affect other educators who missed out on the chance to accept that shift request.

We do understand that there may be times when you need to cancel a shift due to an emergency or unforeseen circumstance. However, it is important to minimise such cancellations as they can harm the reliability and trust between centres and educators.

Your Reliability Rating is calculated based on the number of shifts you have cancelled out of the total number of shifts you have accepted.

For instance, if you have accepted 100 shifts and cancelled 5 of them, your Reliability Rating will be 95%.

High-quality Educators generally have a Reliability Rating of more than 95%.
